Sunsets

Remember how Hawaii is all beautiful and stuff? Well, it is. And there are few things more beautiful than a sunset on the ocean.

Then, you come home to Utah, which is obviously not Hawaii.  And when you least expect it, like when you're driving home from work (last night, for example), you are rendered speechless by the transcendent display of colors in the sky. I daresay this is far more magnificent than any sunset I have ever seen in Hawaii (sans the obstructive power lines)- the entire sky was splashed with vivid colors. Good job, Mother Nature.

p.s. What I'm trying to say is that I'm thankful for picturesque sunsets. And even more specifically- the fact that I don't have to travel anywhere to see some of the most glorious of them.

p.s.s. Now that I've written the word "sunset" a few times, I'm realizing what a strange word it is. You know how when you say a word over and over it starts to sound like gibberish? "sunset, sunset, sunset, sunset" ... Weird.

Yes! I noticed the beautiful sunset last night too. And while driving home I wanted to sing America the beautiful. Especially the part where it says, "O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties"

Because the sky was really pretty, and the mountains were all purple. just like in the song. :)

Transcendent. Good word.

I'm grateful my daughter is a word nerd.

Utah really does have some beautiful sunsets, and that is an especially nice one.
