Secret recipe

I went to a baby shower a few weeks ago, and I brought these delicious "cookies" for a dessert, and was asked to post the recipe on my blog. It has been requested by a few other people, as well, and I sure don't like to disappoint anyone. So here's the recipe. (And it's not really a secret recipe- I just thought that sounded more exciting than "recipe.")

Chocolate Pinwheels

Ingredients:

3/4 C Sugar
3/4 C White Karo
3/4 C Peanut Butter (creamy)
4 1/2 C Rice Krispies
1 12 oz package Real Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

In large pan, mix sugar and Karo and bring to a boil. Remove from heat immediately and stir in peanut butter. Pour Rice Krispies in and mix together until well coated. On a well-greased/buttered cookie sheet, press mixture down until it is about 1/4"-1/2" thick (make sure to grease your hands as well- this part can get sticky).

In a separate pan, melt chocolate chips. Pour melted chocolate over the Rice Krispies and spread evenly.

With a knife, make one slice across the middle of the pan (width wise- not length), and roll each side like a jelly roll. Wrap each "log" in cellophane and put in fridge for about 1/2 hour (if you leave them in too long they become hard as rock and nearly impossible to cut through). Remove and slice into about 1/2" thick pieces. Then devour. Or share. Whatever suits you. I tend to devour. Don't judge me.

This is a "never fails to please" recipe - and I tend to devour mine as well, even when my intention is to share. So no judgment here!

I have learned not to make them unless someone I have committed to share - and the other party KNOWS they are being made.

Love the photo illustration.

i am boycotting even reading this post on behalf of my butt.
and stomach.
and thighs.
and well, ankles for that matter.

and please, if i am ever at a function with you, please never bring those. and don't tell me where the desserts are, even if you know. but just in case it's obvious tell me they are all disgusting or made by people that go to the bathroom and don't wash their hands.

I love this cookie! Your Aunt Judy made it every Christmas and included it in a plate of goodies she would bring over to our house. Times have changed and she no longer comes over at the holidays. Now I know that you make them, my darling neice, I'm coming " a begging " xxx
