Heath Ledger- you will be missed

I got online to check my e-mail this afternoon, like I normally do, and the headline for the news read "Heath Ledger Dies at 28." It took a second for it to sink in... he was one of my favorite actors. Investigators are thinking that he died of a drug overdose (I hate that Hollywood has that effect on some people). It's really sad how often this happens.

Look how handsome he is:

Heath Ledger has been one of my favorite actors since I saw him in "10 Things I Hate About You," (1999) and I liked him even more in "A Knight's Tale." He was amazing in "The Patriot" and "Lords of Dogtown" (although he was a little crazy). I never saw "Brokeback Mountain," but I don't doubt he was incredible in that as well, especially since he won some awards for it. He is going to be the Joker in the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight," which we have been anxiously anticipating.
So sad...

Not only was he an incredible actor, he was also incredibly good-looking and had a very sexy Australian accent.
Goodbye, my Aussie Heath!

Such a waste... so very sad. If an overdose is the confirmed cause of death, it is another in a long line of very early deaths among beautiful, talented performers who had so much going for them - so much to live for. I'll never understand the allure of drugs...

Chocolate, on the other hand......

Yes, such a waste. Last month's issue of People magazine was dedicated to all of the celebrities' deaths (those who had died too young- or at the peak of their career) that the magazine had previously covered over the years- starting with John Lennon and ending with Anna Nicole Smith. It had 1-2 pages for each celebrity and talked about their accomplishments and how they died. It was really sad how many of their deaths were caused by drug overdose.

And I am SO glad I've never heard of anyone dying of a chocolate overdose.

I agree Ashley, he was a great talent and his death is so tragic. I saw Brokeback Mountain and his performance was amazing.

His little girl will never know him.
