Proof of spring.

Having lived in Utah my entire life, I don't understand how I can be so shocked each year when it snows after the March 20th Equinox. Yet I never fail to curse at mother nature for being such a fickle female.

However, I am happy to report that I have seen the signs of spring, in my very yard. And I will show them to you, since they bring me such joy and happiness. Perhaps they will do the same for you.

Here are my beautiful purple pansies which braved and survived our freezing winter. I'm so proud of them.

And my flowering cherry tree is nearly bursting at the seams. She will bring me much joy this year, I can feel it.

My Japanese Maple is a tad nervous to let her leaves out so early, afraid that the snow will hurt them. I hugged her assured her that she will be just fine. She felt much better.

Harley is enjoying the warmer weather, as well.

And since it's been a while since I've posted a random picture of Kennedy, I will put one on here. It is of Kennedy and one of her future prospects, Jackson:

I'm jealous of you Japanese Maple. I planted one here in the Redwood Forest when we bought the cabin in 2004 but it did not survive the second winter. Guess it didn't like the near 20 degrees or the fact that I forgot to hug it.

Great pictures AND writing Ashley

Winters can be pretty awful here with mudslides and endless rain and floods - but I don't miss the March snow in Utah. Come and visit and I gaurantee no snow!

Craig- I am sure that not hugging your tree is the only reason it didn't survive. They need that love and affection. :)

And Paul- I may have to take you up on that offer! When winter gets a bit unbearable here, we'll come enjoy the beauty of the redwoods! And no snow. lol

Well isn't Jackson quite the cutie? They would have cute cute kids...Just sayin! I also curse mother nature (almost everyday) for being so fickle and for nearly killing my roses each year.

I'm so jealous of your Japanese Maple!! Your garden is going to delight and awe in a month or so.

You would not be jealous of where I live in a couple of months. At all. Right now, however it is gorgeous. Come visit.

Your pansies are spectacular...so bright and beautiful!! I'm still trying to think of trees we can add to our backyard and a friend suggested a Japanese maple but I've never seen one! Maybe you'll post pics of yours once spring has fully arrived (hint, hint!!)

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a kind comment on the post regarding my daughter. The support I've received has been overwhelming!

L love you and I love your blog ! Your pictures brought me joy, every little bud and bloom.
Yes the Spring snows can be disappointing, but the good thing is... the snow melts fast !! and they make it possible for us to have green grass and beautiful flowers in the summer.
Spring is truly on it's way. :o)
