(Try saying that 10 times, fast. "fantastic friendly fall festivities....")
Last weekend we went to a friend's house for a pumpkin carving contest. Kennedy insisted on wearing her costume, of course. Her wig came off 4 minutes after we arrived.
(For those of you without kids, or who have never watched TV in your life, or for some reason you just don't know who this is, it's Daphne, from Scooby Doo.)
Let the party begin. Here we are in action:
Don't worry- I didn't really let Kennedy use that knife on a pumpkin. I merely had her pose for a picture for posterity's sake. ...And apparently I go cross-eyed on occasion.
Here is Sarah and the CUTEST little boy in the world, Camden (it's not Sarah's baby- it's Brody and Jackie's). I am secretly plotting to inconspicuously take him home with me, one day.
Justin was concentrating hard. This was, after all, a contest.
And there are the final masterpieces. Mine is the one with the owl, and Justin's was on the right of mine. Kennedy's was the 2nd to last with the heart nose (Justin did it for her).
And the winner is....
Kennedy and Sasha! We all knew an adult couldn't win, because we'd all fight and debate over who's was actually better and why. That's why adults shouldn't enter into contests. They're sore losers.
The prize was the biggest freaking Sugar Daddy ever known to man. Thanks to Garret, Kennedy was on a sugar high all night ("Here, Kennedy, do you want some MORE??"). We are just patiently waiting until he has a kid so we can get him back.
(I had a piece of the Sugar Daddy, too. There's no way I'm saying "no" to sugar. I tried to be sneaky about it, but it was caught on camera.)
After the exhausting competition, we sat around and watched Brody's favorite show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
And I told Kennedy she couldn't have any more candy.

all i gotta say is who needs trick or treating for more candy when you win a piece of candy the size of the state you live in. For real. that is ginormous.
Where do I get me one of those Sugar Daddy's??
I want one of those sugar daddy's too!!!
What a cute Daphne! Looks like tons of fun! I probably should let Brad carve a pumpkin, but so far, it hasn't happened... oh well! Someday! You look great btw. What a skinny minnie!
I just have to know where you got that amazing costume. I love the wig!! I just have to also say you are such an amazing Mom. :) I love those pumpkins!! I actually liked Kennedy's the very best. Loved the mouth actually. :)
That looks so much fun! Seriously those pumpkins were all very good. Your all winners in my book! Thank you for clearing up who that costume was because all though she looks adorable I didnt know! LOL
I see the creative juices finally came to you. how can i live up to a post like this? the bar is set so high now.
our kids are going to get teased to. it'll be payback for all the times jeff said something like this to someones kid: "you can go to bed but were just going to be up having fun and eating candy."
anyway, that was a fun night!!
I am so in the mood to carve a pumpkin right now! And if you want my opinion, if did actually judge the adult pumpkins, yours would have totally won.
man oh man...what's it like to have just one kid to focus all your time and energy on? and buy stuff for and do everything with.....??? alas i will never know.....
she's too cute. i'm a little glad she came to your family b/c i think with someone that girly i'd be in a straight jacket before she was 3!
I love the pumpkins! Your owl was awesome.
And Kennedy makes an adorable Daphne. Can't wait to see a photo of all four (including Harley) in your Scooby Doo costumes : )
How FUN!! I loved all the pumpkins, you guys really did a good job.
Her costume was perfect, she is so cute!
such a cute costume! I LOVE the wig! hehe
You're sure making some great memories. The whole evening looked like a blast. I wonder if I could make a giant sugar daddy like that last for 2 maybe 3 days.. maybe...if I tried really hard.
love you
