As requested.

Ok. Like I said, I do what my friends (and mom) tell me to do... AND I've been told I should upload clips of the song(s) I am thinking of singing. So what do I do? Upload clips.

[Confused? Read previous post.]

Since I didn't have a lot of time to record them yesterday (at my friend's recording studio), some of them are not up to par (a bit flat) and I would have liked a re-do. But at least this will give you an idea of what I am planning to sing.

Which one should I "wow" (or scare) them with? (And if they like me, supposedly they will ask for a second or third song. So, if you could rate them on a scale of 1-4, 1 being the best, it would be helpful).

"Fooled Ya Baby" by Nikka Costa:

"Impossible" Christina Aguilera:

As far as what to wear? I thought I knew, but I really don't. I'm getting my hair done on Saturday (it REALLY needs to be re-done, but this is just a good excuse to get it done, now). But clothes? I have never been a fashion expert. Erica, this is where I need your help.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.....

You've got such a great voice - and you seem to be improving/definining your own style and technique.

Each song shows off a different aspect to your voice.... Smile is great.... but then the dixie chicks is fun (though I know you don't want to be pegged as a country singer).... fooled ya baby is a whole new jazzy/blues direction for you and I like it. It sounds like the most difficult piece to sing.

Impossible was nice, but the song itself isn't that memorable for me.

Hmmmmm.............

Hey Ashley!!! I'm so excited for you! You are going to be awesome. I really liked Smile- but I don't know if it gives the judges enough of a tone range to work with... so I would say fooled ya baby. Oh man this is exciting. Let me know how it goes... and we do need to hangout soon. Are you going to be at the Huka for the concert or are you going to rest? Let me know. You are such an amazing singer, I didn't know that about you.... Have fun!!!

okay, so i have trouble making decisions so i can't decide which one... i like them all. and i don't follow fashion trends so i could not help there. and i cut my hair once a year so i cannot help there.
I can tell you however that you are one talented chick. and i think i have to change the link name from ashley rae and the rockstar to ashley rae THE rockstar.

Oh Ashley! You sound awesome! YAY!! I have such talented friends! I think you should sing the second one, something about "fooled"... Sorry, I can't remember the whole title. But at first I like the Smile one, but the fooled one shows off your voice SO MUCH MORE!!!!!!!!! It was awesome. I think that Smile should be your 2nd choice. Though I loved the last two, they weren't nearly as showy as the first two. That is what i think. PS I have a blog too! It's courtandsharee.blogspot.com
Love ya! When are the auditions?

The one that strikes me as "most likely to be heard on those American Idol flashback video segments" would be Fooled Ya. It allows you to show off your range along with the power of your voice.

I agree with your mom, you seem to be growing into your own voice: you sound different - quite a bit stronger - than you did the last time I heard you, on the cruise.

You have a wonderful voice, Ashley! I liked Fooled Ya Baby the best, it showed your range really well. I think I've heard a lot of people sing "Smile" during their auditions on AI so you would really have to stand out, but you did sing that really well.
Seems like all they are looking for on that show is a unique voice and a unique personality. Good luck, I can't wait to hear how it went!

Ashley your voice is amazing! I would totally buy your album. I liked Fool Ya Baby and Smile. Impossible was pretty but I think Christina songs are used too much on AI.

As far as outfit, I don't know! Decisions! From watching the show I think a lot of girls try to look too trendy. I think you should wear something classic and flattering. And something in a solid color. Maybe a really well fitted dress and some really great high heels.

Yay I'm so excited your trying out, good luck! And keep us updated.

Ashley!!
I am so excited for you and am so glad you have decided to take the Idol stage again!
I do love "Smile" and feel that for most it is a "safe" song to audition with as there are no sharp turns in it...HOWEVER, since you NAILED "Fooled Ya Baby" that has several vocal swings throughout, I think it would be best to go with that! They really admire those who tackle the more challenging pieces.
You are amazing!!

I am going to have to agree with most and say "Fooled Ya Baby". You have an amazing voice - the kind of voice I always wished I had. You really should make it, their idiots if they don't pass you to the next round.

Good Grief Ashley, I had no idea you could sing so good! I loved your version of "Smile". And you always look adorable so you should totally have this audition in the bag! Good luck with everything!
