Staying classy

Today at school, Kennedy's teacher asked the kids to draw and write about where they were going for Thanksgiving.

I'll bet her teacher was jealous.

Surprisingly enough, and much to Kennedy's chagrin, we will not be going to McDonald's. Instead, we are going to Mimi's, which has a slightly better selection of Thanksgiving cuisine. Only slightly.

Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving. I'm thankful I have such wonderful friends and family :)

Kennedy loves her McDonald's... LOL I'll bet she was really disappointed to find her drawing does not make it so.

I love Mimi's corn chowder. And their bread selection. I, however, will be dining at my sister's in Bellingham - where I don't have to prepare the meal.

In fact, I think I've maybe only prepared one or two full thanksgiving dinners in my whole life. I've been the lucky recipient of invitations to others' Thanksgiving dinners, bringing side dishes or desserts. This year I am providing soda cracker pie (by request).

Ashley, I wonder if you'll ever have to learn how to cook a turkey. Do you know? If so, you never learned it from your mother....

P.S. Thank you for using chagrin in a sentence.

Hmmm...I wonder where we will be eating for Thanksgiving? They don't celebrate it here, of course. I cooked up a storm yesterday, but none of it Thanksgiving food. Oh well, I guess it isn't all about the food anyways, right? It will be fun to just be together and have fun as a family, no matter what we eat. :) And even though we do have one here, I know for sure that we won't be eating at McDonalds. Mimi's sounds nice though! Too bad I haven't seen one here.

You're going out to eat on Thanksgiving? Nice! I am cooking my first T-giving dinner ever...we'll see how it goes.

We've had it at Madeline's before, because my MIL doesn't want to cook and I got tired of doing it (3 times in a row), so yep. We went to a restaurant. It was actually really good. Hope you enjoy yours!

That's really funny - nice picture, though. I wonder if there are any people who go to McDonald's for their Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe lunch?

ok that cracks me up! I totally love it! I love how everyone is seated like a roller coaster ride! Nothin like a roller coaster AND McDOnalds. Thats just a party all around :)

@Mom- I've never cooked a Turkey and as long as Justin's family keeps taking us to Mimi's, I may never have to learn :)

@Paul- she was slightly disappointed that we didn't go, but she actually knew we were going to Mimi's. She had just forgotten the name of it when her teacher asked. McDonald's sounded about right. lol

@Paul (again)- Maybe next year I'll convince Justin's family to take a trip to visit you and have a gourmet thanksgiving meal cooked your way. Although I may get sick of them and leave them to go to a restaurant and I will come to your house by myself :) (with Kennedy of course)
