Fall fun

My brother and his wonderful family are back in the states for a short visit. (Too short, if you ask me.) This last weekend, we were lucky enough to have his sweet daughters play at our house for 5 whole days! Kennedy was in heaven.

All of the girls had a blast (besides the fact that the two girls were deathly afraid - and justifiably so - of our 5 months old puppy aka SATAN!! I'll leave that for another post, however).

Some of the fun things we did while my nieces were here for a visit:

We went ice skating.

We went out to dinner and entertained ourselves while waiting for our food.

And we helped Justin rake the leaves.

'Twas quite a successful weekend. I will be sad to see them go back to Costa Rica. Although they may just find that their suitcase is 120 pounds heavier than usual... hahaha!

Ok, fine. 130 pounds.

I love this post. I wish I could have been there for the fun this past weekend. Skating looks like a blast, and the girls' face-pulling skills continue to improve. The pic of Emily flying into the leaves is priceless.

Are you renaming the puppy Satan? I vote Beelzebub as an option.

FUN! I loved your pictures. That little pink sweater Kennedy is wearing is amazing.

@Mom- my only fear is that if I rename her (even with how appropriate the name may be), she may continue to be satanic and will have no chance of calming down. So we will stick with Roxy. Although I'll probably still call her Beelzebub or Satan behind her back.

I was thinking of how you guys said you are thinking of visiting your brother in costa rica next year. that would be so fun and you totally should. I was talking to Jeff about it and we both agreed that Justin will have a problem with the toilets and toilet systems there. (you don't flush your TP there, you put it in the trash. imagine all the germs and phobias Justin will have!)

anyway, good post and I had fun hanging out with you guys on saturday.

You are the best aunt in the whole world!! Our girls had a blast with you and of course loved playing with Kennedy. They have really missed ice skating and really wanted to go while we were here. Thanks so much for taking them! We're excited to spend more time with you this week, too!

@Sarah Jane - it's true about the toilet paper in Costa Rica. Although we like to believe our house has a better plumbing system than the norm, so we don't follow that unless we're in hotels, etc.

Thank you Ashley for taking such great care of Emily and Marie for us and having so much fun together. Brandon and I really enjoyed your photo updates while we were in Arizona too. You are awesome!! We love you!!!

I bet Kennedy loved having the girls there to play with. Although Brooklyn has missed being able to play with her.

Can't wait for the love fest tomorrow night:)

Totally looks like fall fun! Except for the evil dog you have:( Kennedy is the cutest. And let's be honest, it would be 120 lbs AT MOST:)

What a sweet post. I think you should consider your self lucky to enjoy your family the way you do. I've found that it isn't always the case. By the way.. Happy Birthday. Hope you're out celibrating.

How fun! Now I want to take my kids ice skating. That will definitely be on our to-do list this winter. Why can't we all live within 30 minutes of the ones we love? Why do people have to move away? I hate it. But, I guess it makes it extra special when we do get to see them.
