A nice view

Remember how in my last post I said I loved "blue skies"?

Here is a picture, courtesy of my iPhone, of said "blue skies" this morning, as I was on my way to work.
What's that, you say? Pollution?? Oh don't worry- that grey cloud looming over the city is totally normal (which is a relief, since my building is smack dab in the middle of it).

And then while at work, I look out the window and once again behold the same beautiful blue skies..
You're wondering about that dark grey hovering mass? Psh. It's totally fine.

And finally, a view from another window of the other side of the city. Now, that could either be fog or some wicked pollution, but whatever it is, at least it looks cool... and I'm sure it's completely healthy to inhale.

P.S. If I start hallucinating, vomiting, or having seizures, I think we can safely blame it on that ominous sea of exhaust fumes suspended above the city.

Oh man I might be coming to visit next weekend, but I am thinking I might change my mind. Plus I have to do a 7 mile run that weekend. It will kill me.

Or how about lung cancer? At least your office seems to be above it. But that smog is so not cool. Oh Ashley, I wish for your sake it would go away!

If it makes you feel any better, while the air is wonderful in the remote areas down here in Costa Rica, if you're walking in the city, or driving, you can't help but get a whiff of exhaust fumes frequently - so much so that I start to get a headache or feel sick. I don't think they have emissions tests down here. So, you can get away from it most of the time...but not all of the time, I guess... That's why we want to find a house AWAY from the city.

By the way, I like the new blog theme.

It looks like the city is making it's own clouds or something in that last photo. Wow.

We endure some fumes here in the city of Grecia as well, if you are walking around on the streets, so we are looking for a house somewhere out in the countryside where there is less traffic.

I hope your clouds lift soon!

Thank you for using the word ominous. It perfectly describes that lurking layer of cloud gas.

It's rainy here (Seattle winter, what else?), but the air feels great.

I know- I really hope it goes away. SOON. And yes, living in the city definitely has disadvantages. Even in Costa Rica, apparently.
I suppose I could try to escape to the mountains, but it is freezing. Haha.

Mom- You are welcome for using "ominous." And I would so much rather have rain and fresh air than blue skies and un-breathable air.

I do have to say that those are some fabulous pictures. They captured the beauty and muck nicely. Hope you are feeling well and that there have been no dangerous health spells. Keep looking at the positive. Blue sky...lovin' it!

The inversion is so gross. I remember being able to look directly at the sun--it was an orange ball in the sky. Kind of post-apocalyptic and creepy.

Hopefully it won't be there much longer?

LOL :) This lovely air did in fact cause me a sinus infection which went to my ears... and then caused vertigo at which point I did fall over and I did start puking. So, you can safely say that this air is to blame and your statement and worries are not invalid :)
