Saturday. Lazy day?

Since Saturday is pretty much my only day off of work, you'd think it would be a lazy day. Sleep in, lounge around, read a book, watch a few movies with Kennedy, play with barbies, veg out, relax, etc. And then of course I could win the lottery, go to the spa, get a massage, then go live in a house on some tropical island where cute island boys fan me, shade me, and fetch me drinks at the snap of a finger.

OR

I could wake up to the sound of "MOM!! IT'S LIGHT OUTSIDE!! WAKE UP!!" Then drag my legs up the stairs, groggily scramble up some eggs and nuke some oatmeal for Kennedy, look at the pile of dishes in the sink and then be reminded of the massive mounds of dirty laundry downstairs, the piles of dust on the shelves, a kitchen floor crying to be mopped, carpet yearning to be vacuumed and toilet desperately needing to be scrubbed.

So I put on some Spongebob and I plop down in front of the computer because my blog was seriously calling for me to update it.

I typically use my Saturdays for family fun activities, weather it be running errands, hanging out at home, or playing with construction equipment till I want to cry…. We only get two days together as a family so why not use them up as a family. I too need to clean, but I am very lucky and I get the chance to do that during the week considering I do not work outside of the home, not that I have been cleaning, I just hate cleaning on the weekends (and hate cleaning in general!) Have a great Saturday!

So clean a little, then spend the rest of the day in laziness or playing. Maybe vacuum, since the carpet is actually yearning - but the rest of it can wait :)

What movie did you and Kennedy see last night?

*sigh*... I would love to have hubby clean everything, but alas, he works on the weekends since he has school during the week. It will all be over in 4 months.....

Mom- we went to see Madagascar 2. It was actually really cute :)

Although I think blogging about it made me realize how much I had to do it- so as of now I've done 3 loads of laundry, vacuumed the house, washed the dishes, showered, gave Kennedy a bath, and went to the grocery store. Now I need a nap.

that sounds like my saturdays too. in fact, i tackled some of those things at my house today. I said SOME because I too am looking at blogs to kill time.

it's hard to get it all done in one day.

I don't know what it is about Saturdays. I typically don't feel like doing anything resembling work on that day either. I usually feel better when I can muster up the gumption to do some work, and then I feel better about playing for the rest of the day, as long as I don't get sucked into working too much, which also sometimes happens.
